Following on from my recent Blackcurrant Jam post (thats here incase you missed it!) here’s a little guide to sterilising jars ready for storing your homemade jam. It’s just a copy and paste of info from a very early post but I thought it might be handy to put it in a post on it’s own.
It sounds complicated, but it’s really not!
What to do:
Pre heat oven to at least 120c.
Wash jars in warm soapy water, then rinse and dry.
Place the upturned jars on a baking tray in the oven for approx 15 minutes until completely dry.
Leave them upturned on a clean dry tea towel until you are ready to use them.
And that’s it. Simples!
